THERE was much excitement today in Beating Myself Into A Dress towers as we had our prize draw for our three brilliant prizes.
My glamorous assistant Mammy Dunne lent a hand to pull the three names out of the hat.

Second prize of the blue and coral mosaic style earrings goes to …
Third prize of the set of cute star earrings goes to …

Congratulations to all three winners. Please send me on your postal addresses to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll post out your prizes. Thanks to everyone for entering!
SO it’s the last day of my Colour Me Happy Challenge today and I’m over the moon with how it went.
I enjoyed it personally, loved breaking out my bright summer clothes and putting away all my dark winter gear. But most of all I loved seeing others taking part, digging clothes they had forgotten about out of the back of the wardrobe, painting their nails, going shopping, enjoying fashion.
While this is the end of the challenge, I’ve retired my winter wardrobe for good now (well, until next autumn anyway!) and intend to wear bright colours, patterns, florals, stripes and polka dots as often as possible. And I hope you will too.
To celebrate the conclusion of the challenge I have a tiny giveaway for you all! Just for the heck of it I have a €20 gift voucher for Boots up for grabs.
And also for the heck of it I have a second and third prize up for grabs too!
Second prize is these lovely mosaic-style eggshell blue and coral earrings:
Third prize is this cute set of three star shaped stud earrings:
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is leave your name in the comments below. The competition runs until next Sunday, Easter Sunday, April 20 and a name will be chosen at random and the winner announced Sunday evening. First out of the hat wins the voucher, second wins the mosaic-style earrings and third out wins the star shaped studs. This competition is open to readers in the Republic of Ireland only. (Readers in Northern Ireland are free to enter but the Boots voucher is in euro so if you win, you will have to come down south to spend it!)
IT’S been an exciting morning here at Beating Myself Into a Dress Towers as we’ve picked the winner for our fabulous personally signed Colette Caddle buke, First We Take Manhattan.
AND THE WINNER IS…
Congratulations Lorraine, please email me on email@example.com with your address and the name that you want on the book and I’ll pass it on to Colette who’ll sign it for you and send it on.
Thanks to everyone who entered!
HAVE I got a giveaway for you! How would you like a signed copy of Colette Caddle’s fabulous new buke, First We Take Manhattan? Ah you would, you know you would. And to sweeten the deal, it’s not JUST a signed copy, it’ll be personally signed to YOU.
First We Take Manhattan features twins Sheila and Sinéad, hat designers at the top of their game. Until Sheila mysteriously disappears. What happened to her? Can Sinéad survive with out her twin by her side? Set in Dublin and Manhattan, First We Take Manhattan is a cracking good read featuring a mystery, a love story and lots and lots of hats.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning a personally signed copy is leave your name in the comments below. Competition will run until Monday, April 7, 2014 and a winner will be chosen at random. Colette will then sign the book in the winner’s name and it will be posted on to you. So what are you waiting for? To the comments!
THE winner of my Be Good To Yourself competition of a lovely notebook and lipstick pen is …
Send me an email with your address Patricia either on firstname.lastname@example.org or on Facebook and I’ll post your prize on to you.
Congratulations and thanks to everyone for entering both here and on FB. Keep your eyes peeled as there will be some more little competitions coming up for random stuff I saw in the shops that I thought you might like.
SO I promised you a weekly Be Good to Yourself post on the back of my Keeping Up With The Selfridge’s challenge and of course, of course, I didn’t deliver.
Ah I was too busy
eating my own bodyweight in Toblerone minding the baby and fannying about with nail polish cleaning my house and watching endless episodes of Family Guy batch cooking healthy meals.
That doesn’t mean I haven’t been good to myself though. I really enjoyed the previous challenge so I’ve been making an effort to take some time for myself, mess about with my nails, stick on a bit of make-up, that sort of thing.
Last Saturday I took a whole day to myself in Dublin and just wandered around window shopping in the posh shops and then running back over to Penneys, where I belong. I even got my make-up done at the YSL counter in Brown Thomas (get me!) thanks to a lovely pal who treated me.
SO on the back of that act of kindness and in an effort to spread a bit of happiness and just for the bloody hell of it, I’ve a little competition for you.
Up for grabs is this lovely embroider-y notebook and this lipstick pen. It LOOKS like a lipstick but it is in FACT a pen. Now, who doesn’t need one of those, huh?
All you have to do to enter is comment on this post with your name AND describe how you have been good to yourself** (or indeed others) lately. The competition will run until this Thursday, February 27 and a winner will be picked at random. (Competition is open to Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland readers only.)
**I realise that the phrase ‘be good to yourself’ is a bit masturbation-y but we’re all adults here, so you can stop sniggering down the back there and keep it clean!
